Her journey in Indian classical music began in early childhood when she first displayed a deep interest in the art form. Her foundational training started under the guidance of Tapati Nag, who introduced her to the basics of music with her first 'Sa Re Ga Ma.' Due to her father’s frequent job transfers, Anamika moved across various cities and eventually settled in Kolkata, where she began to nurture her talent under the mentorship of esteemed musicians and gurus such as Dwijen Mukherjee, Maya Sen, and Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta. She was also a notable student at the prestigious Calcutta Music School, an institution with a legacy of over a century. Anamika went on to earn her Bachelor of Music degree as a teenager. She firmly believes that the process of learning music is a lifelong journey. To deepen her expertise in Hindustani classical vocal techniques, she trained under Mrs. Dalia Rahut, the former head of the Indian Music and Dance department at Calcutta Music School and a disciple of the legendary Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi. To further refine her artistry, Anamika also received specialized training from Vidushi Kaushiki Chakraborty, one of India's most celebrated Hindustani classical vocalists and daughter of the eminent Padmabhushan Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. Anamika has performed at numerous concerts and prestigious festivals across India and the United States. She has also composed original pieces, some of which have been showcased at cultural events and festivals. With over a decade of teaching experience, Anamika is dedicated to imparting her knowledge through various music education programs to the next generation. Many of her students now perform both in India and the USA. She takes immense pride in seeing her students excel on stage or in informal gatherings, spreading the rich heritage of Indian classical music worldwide.
